Dear Liam,
Today was D-day. Or in other words- circumcision day. I was a MESS to say the least. Every day that has passed since you were born was like a dreading countdown in my head that I couldn’t shut off. So dramatic, I know.

I’ve told Alex many times prior that I refuse to be there when they “do it”- and that is 100% his job. As for me, I could care less if they circumcise you or not. I feel horrible about causing you any unnecessary pain! But hopefully you’ll be happy we did, when none of the kids are making fun of you in the locker room;). So when Alex emailed me today saying he will drop off the money for the doctor and that he wouldn’t be able to stay, I freaked out. Big time. I refused to talk to him, and even locked myself in the bathroom. Like I said, very dramatic. The tears were uncontrollable, and very embarrassing. I told him I’d just cancel the appointment, and he insisted on staying.

When the portaria called up announcing that the doctor arrived, water works started up again and Alex insisted that I take the service elevator down to the reception and relax. (Probably to avoid running into the doctor and embarrassing myself.) So I did. I was sniffling in the reception area when Alex texted me that it was all done, and that you cried more in your diaper change this morning. The doctor was really great- and luckily he gave you some baby tylenol. You were furious for about 20 minutes until it started to kick in, and now you are sleeping like an angel- but with the most adorable pout.

Oh my goodness, I am so amazed by you. And amazed by this insane love I have for you. You are such a good baby and I love how you look at me like I’m the best thing. You love it when I sing to you. Our favorites are “You Are My Sunshine” and “I Feel My Savior’s Love”. You are pretty good with other people, but definitely a mama’s boy. It’s incredible how you calm down when I hold you, even with eyes closed. You can sense me pretty well, and I adore that.

First doctor appt
