You’re recovering well from your circumcision! We had you on baby Tylenol for a couple days, but you didn’t even seem like you needed it. We didn’t want you to be in any pain. You were a champ about the whole thing.

You totally crack me up. You do this thing that we (lovingly) call the “stink eye”. It’s a one eyed open glare that you love to do, especially to people that aren’t me. It’s like your peeking just to see who it is, then close your eyes again. Then your curiosity gets the best of you and you peek open one eye again. Because obbbviously, they aren’t worth your full two-eyed attention quite yet.

You also have a tendency to pee all over Alex when he changes your diaper. Which is pretty hilarious because I change probably 85% of them, and you haven’t peed on me yet. The projectile is pretty impressive, I have to say. So diaper time is more like a race against who-knows-when-it’s-gonna-blow. Is this too much information?

Your dad stayed up with you for 2.5hrs last night. Wow, what a stud. I was totally passed out and vaguely remember him getting up with a bottle I had pumped. When he climbed back in bed, and a few minutes later you started to cry, I asked how long he has been up. I almost died when he told me 2.5 hrs! Poor guy has to work, so I got you to bed. He loves you soo much, and is the most patient and sweet dad ever. It is so cool to see him in this new role. When he comes home from work he kisses me, then goes straight to you and typically holds you for the rest of the night. It’s sad to me that he doesn’t get to see you all day, goodness I can’t stand it when your naps go too long! I miss you terribly, it is a bit ridiculous.

Today RaKae came over and she took some pictures of us. Even though I did all the right things beforehand and set up perfectly for nap time during the photo session, you were wide awake with the stink eye handy. You didn’t cry much, but did not seem amused in the slightest. I should have known, you are Alex Hill’s son after all. But we got some good ones, and I’m thrilled to finally have some pictures with you!

Your hair looks surprisingly red, especially today. Ruth says Alex was the same, and then his hair fell out and grew back toe-head blonde. I wonder if the same will happen to you. Also your eyes the past two days have started to become more blue. Before they were just dark, and hard to make out any color whatsoever. We’ll take anything, but it would be cool if you had green eyes like me. That way I could claim something! Alex’s genes really dominate you, my little man. However, I’m not complaining. Alex is the handsomest man I know. I’m especially happy that you have his strong chin!

You are sleeping pretty well for a newborn. Depending on what time you go to bed, you wake up 1-2 times. Last night you woke up at 2:30 went to bed around 4:45, then slept until 9:15. Pretty dreamy I’d say. But if you fall asleep earlier you’ll typically wake up around 1, then again at 5, then sleep till 10ish. But then of course there are nights when you want to play for hours. The other night you were up between 2-5am, wooo that was rough. You’re still an angel though:)

You snore when you sleep, which is so dang funny to me. Basically, I’m just enthralled with everything little thing about you.
