This morning I woke up at 8:30 to a spotless apartment (the mountain of dishes done from last night), a bowl of oatmeal waiting for me, and you just waking up. You went to bed late last night, but not late enough to not wake up earlier than that! Alex had gotten up with you, changed your diaper, and fed you a bottle.
He did that all so I could sleep a little more! Seriously, he is the absolute best. Right now is a pretty stressful time at work for him. Chase, who was the other guy in recruiting and who Alex did everything with, got fired a couple weeks ago so suddenly Alex has double the responsibilities and workload, and more piling up all the time. He never complains, just puts his head down and works. And then comes home to a sleep deprived wife and works double time here as well.
Yesterday he even agreed to take a few pictures with you yesterday. Pictures aren’t really his thing. At all. So this was a big deal! He makes me so, so happy. And he loves you like crazy- I absolutely adore watching him with you. A lot of dads I hear have a harder time bonding with infants, which is understandable. Mom’s are growing this little baby in their stomach for 10 months, feeling every little kick, then go through the birthing process, and they are the ones that can give you regular nourishment. But for Alex it was the second you came, and it is so obvious. I love watching him come home from work, give me a kiss, and then head straight for you. Multiple times throughout the day he asks me to send another picture of you.
I love my boys!
