You are now 7 months old!

So much has happened the last month. First and foremost, you got your first tooth!! And boy is it sharp. Your bottom right. Hallelujah. You’ve had a rough time with the teething thing. The other bottom tooth is almost here, any day now! We are thrilled for you.

You also got your first vaccines, and took them like a champ eventhough it broke my heart. The nurses had you laughing with a toy, then at the same time jammed needles into both of your legs. You only cried for a minute or so, but your feelings were hurt and you sniffled all the car ride home. You got a fever that night, but it didn’t last long. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s easier for you to get the vaccines the smaller you are, and we’ll be happy we did them! We have to go in for another vaccine today, and I am dreading it.

You are also sitting up so much better! I think your bumbo has helped- we are borrowing it from Hannah and you absolutely adore it. We like to joke that your balance is great, but once you turn that (no offense, but rather large) head, it is game over and you tip right on over.

Your hair has gotten so much longer too! It is especially long in the back, and it naturally sticks straight up. Your sleeping has gotten SO much better, oh my what a relief. You now wake up 1-2 times a night, and sometimes not at all after midnight! You started eating solid foods this month, and are very picky.

You love: Being held, and would much prefer it if I would stop setting you down! While I’m trying to finish up the dishes or something you will start screaming like something hurts, but the second I pick you up this huge grin appears. You love grabbing my hair, and it drives me nuts. You love bananas, really the only thing you consistently like, which is unfortunate because it gives you horrible constipation. (Funny story: we were at Bryce and Keisha’s decorating for the Murder Mystery Dinner and you were in a walker. You love that thing, and we were just fine entertaining yourself. We weren’t watching closely enough and you went over a little ledge to a lower level. Luckily it is just a few inches high and you landed just fine, but it really scared you! In fact, scared the “crap out of you”- we picked you up and you had the largest blow out to date. You had been constipated the last 2 days from eating bananas, and well- all it took was a good scare!) You also love your giraffe toys- you have a teething one (Sophie the Giraffe) and a stuffed one from Grandma Chloe. You get a big grin when I hand them to you. You love being thrown up in the air, you always have. You also love to be tickled on your back, it helps to calm you down. Sometimes when I tickle you, you just slump over my shoulder. It is the cutest! (Yes, everything you do is cute!)

You hate: Tummy time, but are getting better. Unfortunately your rocker. Ruth bought it for you because it was a saving grace with her kids, but the longest you last in that thing is 10 minutes. Applesauce. Loud noises, they get you every time.

-Funny things you do: When you don’t want to eat something or are full you simply purse your lips in the most adorable kissy face toward the ceiling. You are ticklish by your collar bone, and in the rolls of your neck. When I’m holding you I often have a hand on your tubby to steady you. You usually grab my hand and drag it off.
